As we were in the mood to go to the beach, my awesome flatmates, my piano buddy and I decided to head to Cottlesloe to chill out. The last time I went to Cottlesloe was in August (or September) last year.
We stopped at Fremantle for lunch - and because one of us was craving for fish, we decided to stop by Joe's Fish Shack for a look. There were other fish and chips places, but Joe's was the nearest. And besides, we were hungry! Looks like Joe's Fish Shack has been around for quite a while. This is actually my first time to Joe's, and I thought it was quite a decent experience!
The Fin Review. Or rather, the menu for Joe's Fish Shack. We ordered LOTS of food! And were so full that we nearly ended up lazing in the restaurant for the whole afternoon. Fortunately we snapped out of our lazy mood and ended up at the beach.
While waiting for the food, I went around to take some pictures of the interior. They've got really cool stuff around, including a harpoon and stuff recovered from ships!
Went back to my table just in time for lunch! Here's what we ordered: seafood platter for one (includes coleslaw, calamari, fish, prawns and chips), seafood pasta (complete with mussels, squid, scallops and prawns), a plate of calamari and fish and chips. It had been a while since I had calamari, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Of course, I enjoyed taking pictures of the food when it first arrived...and before we polished our plates clean.
Also enjoyed the view of the fishing boat harbour. I'd certainly come back for more photo-taking opportunities!
Passed by some familiar sights while walking to the train station!
And we finally arrived at Cottlesloe! Well - not quite. We walked in the direction of the beach...and ended up wandering into a golf course! We were really apprehensive and were praying that no one would hit a golf ball at us...if not we'd definitely be permanently head damaged!
Fortunately no one was around...so we relaxed a little and took pictures. We could see the sea from here!
Managed to get out of the golf course (fortunately!) with the help of an elderly gentleman...and ended up at our intended destination - Cottlesloe Beach!!
Spot the surfer! :) I initially thought he was meditating, but in the end he picked up his surfboard and went into the water. I wouldn't want to go into the water...it's too cold!
Sculptures by the Sea - an art event - was on at that time, and we could see lots of interesting sculptures around! They ranged from mirrors to odd shapes to toys handing from a tree!
This sculpture constituted lots of windmills made from bamboo - and was a popular spot for photo-taking.
Details of one of the sculptures. Lots of braiding involved!
This sculpture was pretty interesting - if you stand in it, a light will flash...in Denmark!
Eventually we went down to the beach for a quick look and some pictures of course. Check out the gorgeous blue skies! This is something I really like about Perth and Australia - the skies are just so clear and blue. And at night, the stars are ever so clear.
I swear - I didn't even use a polarising filter for these pics. They just turned out like that! :)
And after the whole photo-taking trip was over, I rushed off to zumba. I've been going for zumba every week as part of my dieting plan and also to keep myself healthy. That ended the day really nicely!
Meanwhile, I'm rushing 3 assignments as ALL my deadlines are in April! Starting to get into some kind of frenzy now. I'll be back to update soon!
