Steph's Epic Singapore Visit Day 2 (Universal Studios)

I finally went to Universal Studios Singapore (located in Sentosa)! And this is also Steph's first time to Universal Studios Singapore. We were extremely hyped up about it and were literally waltzing around (well we both love waltzes!) when we finally got our tickets.

The famous swivelling globe right at the entrance of Universal Studios.

And we walked through this arch when walking into the main theme park itself.

Main street when we first walked in - Hollywood-themed, with the main souvenir store and a popcorn van, plus some movie characters! Such as Kungfu Panda. We felt like hugging him...he was just soooo cuddly!

And we headed off to the Madagascar-themed area of the theme park for our very first ride of the day - a river-themed ride with Madagascar characters around.

Plane crash in the tree. From what I remembered, in Madagascar II, the plane DID crash, but not into a tree.

Characters from Madagascar saying their farewells. They were taking pictures with visitors all day and that was the final photography session for them for that day.

Some hunger satisfactions along the way...mostly fast food...

Our next destination was the Shrek-themed area, where we caught the Shrek 4D show. It was incredible, and they even rocked the chairs back and forth to make it seem as if we were riding actual horses. The graphics were amazing.

The place where the show was held: Far Far Away Castle! :D we could even see the castle from the Sentosa Express.

And of course, more hunger satisfactions, with the awesome Gingerbread Man! He's really adorable in the show and we bought one of our buddies a Gingerbread keychain.

Other decorations around the Shrek-themed area, mainly Donkey and his kids, and a sculpture of the King (Princess Fiona's dad after he turned into a frog).

And of course there were live characters! Mainly Shrek (below) and Princess Fiona. And we took pictures with them - they were pretty friendly.

Incriminating evidence of a person trying to "steal" the sword...hehehe... :P

Walking into the Far Far Away Castle for the Shrek 4D show...

And walking out into the souvenir shop, which was Fairy Godmother themed.

We also took a walk around the Jurassic Park area, and they even had background music of John Williams' Jurassic Park theme. Although the theme constantly repeated, it definitely set the atmosphere.

And not too far away from the Jurassic Park area was the Egyptian-themed area, where the famous "Mummy" roller coaster was.

4 Anubis sculptures holding up heiroglyph blocks.

And of course, more characters....

The main entrance of the "Mummy" ride with yet another 2 Anubis "guards". In fact, the main Egyptian god featured in this area was Anubis. There were even more Anubis sculptures along the roads.

A treasure hunt ride, complete with a jeep, scarab beetles, archeology tools and so on.

And this is how the Egyptian area looks like after dark. We reached Universal Studios at about 4 in the afternoon, and by the time we headed to the Egyptian area, it was past dinnertime.

We also walked through the Sci-Fi area, where the famous Battlestar Galactica duelling roller coaster was. We didn't have time to go on the coaster though, but it looked really cool.

The Sci-Fi City area. Extremely high-tech and was mainly silver, red and green.

And of course, 5th Avenue, Broadway! One of my favourite locations! I even had a picture taken with the sign.

A typical American salad bar during the golden age of Broadway. YAY to Broadway! :D

And this is how 5th Avenue, Broadway, possibly looked like. Nice and bursting with life. I wish I could go to the real Broadway someday.

We also caught our final show for that day - the Lights-Camera-Action show, inspired by Steven Spielberg. Within the building, there were posters of Steven Spielberg movies and other classic movies, including Jurassic Park, Jaws, Psycho (which I intend to watch soon), and of course, Frankenstein and the Bride of Frankenstein.

There was also a guy disguised as Charlie Chaplin hanging around these areas...

And when he saw us standing outside this place (at a hat stand), he smacked our bottoms with his cane! He was being naughty of course...but his interpretation of Charlie Chaplin was so spot-on.

We had to walk through the Hollywood area before leaving the theme park, and I HAD to get a picture of this. :D

Stall selling more souvenirs. There were many many souvenir stalls AND massive shops selling souvenirs, and there was always a long queue.

Hollywood area, all lit up beautifully at night.

The Age of the Silver Screen. Reminds me of Cinema Paradiso (an Italian movie which was released around 1988). I watched Cinema Paradiso again last night, and the music was gorgeous as always. Ennio Morricone (the composer of the Cinema Paradiso soundtrack) IS amazing.

And of course, the 2 main souvenir shops in the theme park.

Before tea, we de-toured to Resorts World Sentosa for some night shots (something which I've not done before).

And then we headed back, and crashed promptly after. Definitely a fun and fruitful day and I'm sooooo glad I finally went to Universal Studios!
