Yeah - the title suggests it! The Epic Williamstown Trip of the semester. :) Ben and I embarked on this "adventure" since he has never been to Williamstown before, and I wanted to go to Williamstown anyways. It was definitely one of my best photo-taking trips ever! Ended up with 471 pictures which took ages to load!
Anyway we took a ferry to Williamstown (the ferry ride was awesome - will write about it soon!), and the ride took about half an hour. If we took the train and tram, it'll probably take around an hour. Here's a shot of the train station anyways - quiet and peaceful.
When we first stepped into Williamstown, there were seagulls everywhere. EVERYWHERE!! People didn't really mind though.
The dudes operating the ferry. They were super nice! And even posed for pictures.
We took a walk along the Strand (where the expensive houses were) before heading to my aunt's place for lunch.
Anchorage Restaurant - I haven't tried it before but it looks really posh. Might be really expensive.
We could see the sailboats even from the ferry. And I was like, "Ok, this IS Williamstown indeed!" Lots of people have sailboats and they park them all around the bay.
Well-kept flowers around the Strand.
We found this gargoyle in one of the houses - love its sunglasses! The bike looked a little neglected though.
The White House. Made of strong material, such that it can (probably) withstand a bomb or something. One of the biggest houses along the Strand. Though there're other modern ones that are catching up.
We were pretty exhausted after lunch, so we rested for awhile before heading off to the beach. Well one of the best ways to get to the beach is to walk.
Timeball tower (top picture) and the Titanic restaurant (bottom picture). The Titanic is another posh restaurant - definitely first class!
We were pretty unfortunate at getting hunger satisfactions though - the ice cream van drove off the moment we arrived! We did have a very good dinner at my aunt's place though! She cooked beef (which was sooooooo tender), vegies and some other delicious stuff. And I brought leftovers back to college as usual.
One of the joggers at the beach. We did go down to explore the rocks, and picked up lots of seashells. And some other stuff...
Here's Ben, exploring the rocks. I went down shortly after.
So here we go - we uprooted some seaweeds (out of curiosity), and found lots of seashells, including one with a perfect spiral inside.
And it was so calm and quiet...so we hung around for quite a while.
Oh, and one of the dogs uprooted some seaweed too!
It was nearly sunset by then. And I definitely wanted to take pics of the sunset. Well - the beach is definitely one of the best places to watch a sunset. I've done it so many times. :)
Oh, and so did this group of people. I think they were ahead of me.
So yeah, here are the "official" sunset pictures. :) Watched the sky turn from light blue to bright yellow to deep orange and so on.
So we made it back for dinner, and stayed overnight (because we decided to watch the Royal Wedding and it was too late by the time the wedding was over). Had a really awesome sleep in weeks! Finally - not having to think about schoolwork, and Williamstown was very quiet and conducive for sleeping in.
Well, surprisingly I didn't sleep in! Ben and I headed to the bike shop nearby (the shop was having a massive closing-down sale).
While Ben was browsing through the merchandise, I took pictures...as usual...
This dude was just standing quietly on the back of a truck. Didn't interact much.
While this guy was more approachable and even knew how to shake hands.
Went off to the train station after that, and on the way - here's a picture of a gargoyle in front of one of the massive houses. Pretty aged.
I'll actually be in Williamstown tomorrow, and tomorrow afternoon, I'll be flying back to Singapore! YAY!!
