A (not-so-recent) trip out...

Oh my gosh, I think I'm seriously backdated!  Have been extremely tied up with lots of stuff...that I forgot I haven't posted pictures of my last trip out!  Speaking of which, the last trip out was in early August and now it's late August.  To be honest I've not been going out for nearly 4 weeks (apart from today and maybe sometime early last week)...so yep, pardon the decrease in updates!

The good news is - the weather is warming up.  The BAD news is, the worst is yet to come for thesis writing.  And assignment season's looming up.  Hopefully I can have at least one free day each week to get photo-taking back on track.  Sometimes these trips are therapeutic...

Which brings me to today's post - yet another walk!  And along the way, while cruising down the Kwinana Freeway, I spotted a regatta...

Reached the Swan River area and decided to go down there again.  After all, the view never tires me!

Spotted a family of swans swimming in the river.  The babies were so adorable!  I think they hatched during the earlier part of winter, as they seemed quite big.  Not as big as the ones I saw earlier this year in the David Carr Park.  I think those have grown substantially...but I haven't seen them yet.

It was quite a gorgeous day!  In fact I was really lucky as it started to drizzle a little when I got back to my flat.  But during my trip out to the city, it didn't rain one single bit.

They've fenced off the areas where we used to be able to sit, including the place where couples used to hang out (right in front of the Bell Tower).  Kinda sad, but hopefully something better will come once they upgrade the place!  I heard they have good plans to upgrade the waterfront area.

Either way that did not deter me from continuing the walk.

Maybe it's the weather, but wildflowers were in bloom already.  It was about 23 degrees that day - perfect for a relaxing day out!

So yep, back to the same ol' hangout place.  I was actually toggling between speaking to my aunt on my phone, and taking pictures at the same time.  So much for multi-tasking!

Since the weather was good, I decided to walk to the small lake in the David Carr Memorial Park for a quick look.  I probably won't go back there until spring or so...or maybe when construction work along the waterfront has been done?  Weather's still a little cold these days.

But as usual, the park was very quiet.  So far I haven't seen many people stopping by this park, apart from the old man who fed the swans the other time, and some joggers every now and then.  I don't think I've seen photographers around here.

Spotted 3 girls hanging out along the river...each doing different things.  One was lying down, one was just sitting and the other was trying to take a picture of herself.

Squeezed some other shots in between...just to appreciate the blue sky...

A couple enjoying the blue skies and the good weather...

And yea, this is the time where lighting gets good, so yes, more pictures!

Interesting cloud formation looming straight ahead!  It kinda got more cloudy as the day went by.

Found these interesting vehicles coming my way...but their horns were pretty loud!

Random bird posing on one of the rocks.

As I still had time, I decided to head to the Bell Tower.  To be honest, I've never been up the Bell Tower.  Always wanted to do so but I was kinda worried that the prices were high.  Anyway I think I'll make an effort to go up the tower at least once, before I leave Perth at the end of this year.  I don't even know if I'll be back in Perth next year...we'll see how things go.  Who knows, I might even move to a new city altogether?

Went to the Supreme Court Gardens and crossed through it...

And entered St Georges' Cathedral!  I went there twice, and documented part of one of the trips here.  I was kinda running out of steam, so I didn't stay for long.  Nevertheless, it was peaceful and beautiful as always.

Walked up and spotted the Town Hall, so yep, more pictures.  Besides, the sky was so blue, why waste the chance?

Our beloved London Court.  I came here with my mum for some quality food at London Court Cafe.  And when I walked past the cafe, I felt hungry...although I had something to eat before...

Usually I buy chocolates from London Court.  There's a small chocolate shop somewhere in the middle of the shopping belt, and their chocolates are totally gorgeous!  Rich and milky!  Bought those chocolates for my participants when I was still collecting data, and my gawd, they loved them!  One even confessed that she finished the whole pack within a day!

And I can't even stomach 6 pastilles in one go...wow she's amazing!

Couple of shots at the Hay Street Mall before heading back to the train station.  When I came to the city, I stopped at Esplanade, but when I was going back, I took the train from Perth Underground.

OK!  It's time for me to get back to some work!  Oh and on a side note, I've picked up sketching again.  I've been doodling for the longest time, but just recently (last sem I think!) I decided to sketch more.  Good for relaxation, actually!  But of course, work still comes first.
