Tulip Festival yesterday was absolutely gorgeous!!! We had a tiny hiccup on the way though, and ended up travelling to Dennis (the name of a train stop), which was not along the line which we wanted to be on.

Ben and I got off at Dennis when I realised that the train was heading in the wrong direction. Worse still - the train was heading AWAY from where we were supposed to go, which meant that we had to return back to the city to catch another train in another direction! Coincidentally, a couple was also in the same situation, and they got off at Dennis too. We called a cab to bring us to Hawthorne (a train stop along the line we wanted to travel on), and while waiting, I spotted this cat approaching the train station.

So I went up to the fence and said hi, and he came into the train station! And stopped just behind the yellow line.

I started tickling him behind his ears and stroking his (soft, silky and shiny) fur, and he started purring really loudly! And when I stood up to walk off, he followed me...right to the spot where Ben and the couple were waiting. And posed!

I continued stroking him and rubbing behind his ears, occasionally tickling him under his chin, and all this while, he purred really loudly. He even rubbed against Ben and was all lovey-dovey with us. Then he returned to his spot...

And whenever a vehicle drove past us, he turned towards the direction of the sound...

In short, he accompanied us while we were waiting for the taxi. And he purred so loudly that we thought there was a pigeon somewhere...!!!! He didn't meow at all, and let us tickle/stroke/talk to him. And he was extra friendly to us!

I reckon he came from one of the houses near the station, and when the taxi arrived, I said goodbye to him! He was grooming himself then, but I think he got the message.

Because we ended up unexpectedly in Dennis, I managed to do a small photoshoot for a really friendly and beautiful cat! Though I never found out his/her name. I miss him now! He was such a well-behaved and photogenic cat! A natural model!

Anyways........

I'm going to be at Melbourne Town Hall for 2 nights in a row - just went today for an MSO concert (under the 1910 - A Miracle Year series) and tomorrow, for Verdi's Requiem. The MSO concert today was absolutely fantastic (especially Stravinsky's Firebird Suite - which was fiery in certain parts), and I can't wait for Verdi's Requiem!!

About a week ago, when I was travelling down Swanston St, I happened to spot flower beds outside the town hall. So I decided to make a trip down to the town hall, just to have a look. I had to go down to the city to get some CDs anyway. And I conveniently forgot to buy chocolates from Haigh's again!

Chocolates aside (now I'm hungry!), here're the flowers from the individual flowerbeds:

I love the arrangement of the petals here, and the colour contrast within the flower itself. Somehow light-ish purple and white complement each other.

A white variety...

Another purple-and-white flower...

I love this colour combination a lot! Pink (one of my favourite colours and the most common colour in my wardrobe) and white! :)

The flight of the (hungry) bumble bee..........on the less mature flowers.

Tram in the background...

Even more flowers...

And the ultimate mix of colours!!! White, lavender, blue, light blue........I think they were of the same variety.

And not to mention, pink!

One more shot of the town hall using my wide-angle lens...

And horse rides within the city! I've never been on one before...

I'll be posting pictures of the tulip fest soon! I might have to post 'em in 2 parts since I've got over 200 pictures (!!!!!!!!)

Meanwhile, happy 1st October! :D
