USA 2010 (4)

Disneyland - where dreams come true.

We're now here in Magical Kingdom, the second out of the four parks we visited, and the biggest one so far. We had to take a ferry across a lake into the theme park, and the moment we reached, we walked through the Main Street (pictures are shown in the later part of the post) and headed straight for a "jungle"boat ride.

The buildings near the ride were Aladdin-themed, as shown:

Walking along the "streets of Agrabah"...

We then headed to Frontierland - a wild-west themed section, for 2 more rides...

Before heading to yet another section of the park - where most of the main attractions are.

A Tudor-inspired building...

And not too far away, the inside of the "Small World" ride we took. It was really friendly, warm and gorgeous inside, and the figurines were really adorable.

And not too far away (again), the Peter Pan ride we took. The Peter Pan ride allowed us to have a bird's eye view of the city of London, similar to how Peter Pan flew over London in the cartoon. We even saw Captain Hook!

And of course, more beautiful buildings...

Some of them were souvenir shops, while the rest, restaurants:

And of course, there was a carousel and a Dumbo-inspired ride, with decorations like this:

And of course, there were decorations on the roofs of the buildings, like this one:

There were many, many strollers parked in front of the buildings too, and the place was basically packed. We were actually told that it was considered "quiet" during this period, but the place was still teeming with so many people!

The famous Cinderella castle, which we passed by many times. The castle was right in the heart of the theme park. Unfortunately we didn't see it being illuminated at night, as we left quite early. I did catch a glimpse of the small lights draping the entire castle though.

We also saw a performance in front of the Cinderella castle, while on our way to the other side of the park.

Disney princes

Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and Cinderella (with her flared-out skirt)

Peter Pan, Wendy, Goofy (I think), and Donald Duck

And of course, Mickey and Minnie Mouse!

And bach (oops, I mean back!) to Main Street we went. This is the Main Street I mentioned earlier in this post - with many shops and other stuff. I simply love the architecture!

Right at the start of Main Street.

And there were people giving out balloons around the area.

A Red Indian sculpture right in the middle of Main Street.

We had some ice-cream in Main Street before walking around a little more, and by twilight, we decided to head back to the hotel.

The gorgeous Cinderella castle - looking even more magnificant and enchanting by twilight.

There was also a performance in front of the castle, and Main Street was mostly lit by now...

Even the Christmas tree and the soldier sculptures around it were lit, and stood out really distinctly...

And people were gathered all around, waiting for the parade, which was to commence straight after the performance in front of the Cinderella castle...

The parade was equally enchanting, with Disney characters on top of "floats", dancing to music and waving to the crowd...

By the time the parade ended, we were extremely fatigued from running around the entire park - there were just so many attractions! This was possibly the most tiring day of our trip, and the next day, we took a break and went shopping instead!

Our third theme park - Hollywood Studios - where we learnt about how Mickey Mouse and all the cartoons Walt Disney created came about, and of course, other cool stuff!

Do stay tuned!
