Went to Sentosa for the first time in 6 months! The last time I went to Sentosa was for the Flower Show in February...and I just realised I HAVE NOT put up those pictures yet!! My bad, my bad! I'll post those pictures up very soon! I've included a tiny preview below...
Took a walk along the beach today - since I haven't been to a beach in months! YES - that's true. Even in Perth I didn't have a chance to go to the beach, and beaches there are gorgeous! I'm gonna ensure that I visit at least one of the beaches in Perth in the coming months! Possibly Cottlesloe, or Hillary's Boat Harbour?! I'll see how things go.
Initially I thought that it's gonna rain - since the clouds around my house were pretty dense and grey. But as I approached Sentosa, I noticed that the skies were clear and nice! It seems to be the case many times - I'd initially think that there'll be heavy rain down south, but when I reach there, it's almost always sunny. Just in case you're wondering, Sentosa is south of Singapore.
Also crossed the bridge to one of the smaller islands. My initial plan was to go to Palawan Beach but I lost my way - so I ended up in Siloso Beach. Well - it still paid off! I got to chill out and take a walk!
Last few shots of the beach as I looped back to the Sentosa Express station.
Dropped off at Resorts World Sentosa for a look. Well - this is another place I haven't been for a long time. Besides, it was kinda humid and I was in desperate need for aircon.
Passed by the casino, but I DIDN'T go in. To be honest, I've never been into a casino, and I don't intend to. It's just not my cup of tea. I've seen the casino in Marina Bay Sands - it's massive, but it seems very crowded and noisy.
After passing by the casino, I walked through this passageway, which led to a small shopping area with lots of branded goods!
This place kinda reminds me of Emerald City in the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz. I dunno why - but I think it's the lighting, the high ceilings and the mystic feeling it has.
Also went up the escalator with lots of changing lights. This is probably my 2nd time up this passage.
Didn't take many pictures of the shopping area - but I saw this on one of the shop signs, so I took it.
Ended up at the intersection of Festive Walk, Hotel Michael and the shopping area. And this is where I "met" Adam and Eve. To be more exact - sculptures of them.
Corridor leading to an exclusive area for registered guests.
LOTS of people were taking pictures of Adam and Eve! There was also a big group of students from China (I think it's Guangzhou or something), and they were pretty fascinated with the sculptures. They took quite a number of pictures as well.
I was swarmed by these students when I was heading through the passageway and the shopping area.
Spotted a brochure for the Malaysian Food Street in Resorts World Sentosa. Well - I went there, but I'll save the pictures for another post, in case this one gets too long!
Another highlight of the trip - Universal Studios Singapore. Well I didn't go in this time as I was broke. But I hung around to take pictures of the famous globe and also to enjoy soundtracks by famous people like John Williams. At one point the theme song to Jurassic Park (1993) was being played! So I stayed to enjoy the whole piece.
Instead of hopping onto the monorail, I decided to take a de-tour and wander around the less populated areas of Resorts World Sentosa.
And then I walked back to Mainland Singapore via the Boardwalk.
Had tea with my brother after the whole trip, and this is only part of what I ate. Had some deep fried mushrooms and some ice cream on top of this. Now I'm praying that I won't have a stomachache - as I am lactose intolerant and extremely sensitive to cheese. I told them to put less cheese into the pasta though, so I hope that helps.
I shall end off today's post with some pictures of Marina Bay Sands. Since we were on the topic of casinos, and also because today's post was partially on Resorts World Sentosa.
I've also been watching quite a number of movies these days. Bought 2 movies recently - "The Americanisation of Emily" and "Victor Victoria". I haven't watched the former yet, but the latter is HILARIOUS! "Victor Victoria" was directed by the late Blake Edwards, who also directed Pink Panther shows, and it was released in 1982, and based on the 1933 version of "Viktor und Victoria". The music's composed by Henry Mancini. Seriously, Henry Mancini is AMAZING!! He's one of my favourite composers -alongside John Barry, Ennio Morricone, John Williams, Michael Nyman, Rodgers and Hammerstein and a few more.
Right now as I'm typing this, I'm listening to one of the pieces in the movie - Le Jazz Hot. Catchy and innovative!
"So c'mon in and play me, le jazz hot baby! 'Cause I love my Jazz...HOT!"
"LE...Jazz....Hooooooooootttttttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
